A huge congratulations goes to the team behind Halesowen in Bloom on winning gold in the regional awards. There was even special recognition of the leadership and hard work demonstrated Eve O’Connor, chairman of the project.
Competition judges Graham Redfern and Tim Oakes were clearly impressed with the town’s efforts during their tour back in July. Mr Redfern commented at the time that the town had made “great progress” adding “I can see the improvements that have been made from last year. Most of the things suggested have been taken on board. I am sure Halesowen will be beacon in the Midlands for the Heat of England Bloom.”
Mr Redfern at the time also congratulated Halesowen in Bloom chairman Eve O’Connor. He described her as the “driving force” of the campaign.
On hearing the results Mrs O’Connor told the Halesowen News: “Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way, you’re all blooming stars without which none of it would’ve been possible.”
The results were announced during a ceremony held in Rugby.
