Halesowen’s Christmas Lights a Success

with No Comments

Halesowen’s Christmas Lights were switched on last Saturday (21st) after a fantastic day of entertainment. The celebrations got underway around 11am with a fun fair and Christmas market. Despite the cold weather, thousands of people descended on the town to visit the stalls and the many fairground games and rides. Last year the celebrations saw over 43,000 visitors visit Halesowen on a single day and the early predictions are that even more attended this year.

Wayne Edwards, Chairman of the Traders Association and organiser of the day commented: “The day was a real celebration for Halesowen. A lot of hard work goes into putting on this event but the comments we’ve had from people make it all worth it.”

“It just goes to show that Halesowen is a place people like to visit. A huge thank you to all who have been involved and provided some really fantastic entertainment. Also thank you to James Morris and the Deputy Mayor Mohammed Hanif for supporting us with the switch on”

“We’re already planning to make next years even bigger and better!” Added Wayne.

A huge thank you goes to all the stall holders, fairground ride owners, music performers, Halesowen & Rowley Regis Rotary Club, Code Red Entertainment and a special thanks goes to Wayne and the Chamber for organising such a fantastic event for Halesowen.
