This years Halesowen 100 Cycle Sportive will be taking place on Sunday 27th August. The sportive, which is hosted by (HACC), will again challenge riders to either a 100km or 63km ride.
What is a cycling sportive you may ask? A cycling sportive is a non-competitive long distance cycling event.
The challenging 100km course sees riders leaving HACC in the direction of Hagley and goes on to register an elevation gain of 4,250 feet over its 64.7 mile route.
If 100 miles sounds like too much there’s also a 63km route for riders who may be entering their first sportive. It gives you the opportunity of riding a course through several beautiful North Worcestershire villages before arriving back at the HACC track to complete the route.
Both courses will start on the clubs banked track before setting off towards Hagley and the Worcestershire countryside.
The 100km route will head out towards Kinver before swinging south towards Stourport on Severn and Droitwich. The 63km route follows a shorter path through the delightful village of Chaddesley Corbett before traveling on to Droitwich and eventually rejoining the 100km route for the final 15 miles. The ride culminates in a final descent to the club house and finish after doing a final lap of the track where refreshments, bar and showers will all be available to the riders after completing the fully signed routes.
